Muckross Irish Gin has received a Bronze medal at the 8th annual London Spirits Competition, held in London on 25 & 26 March 2025. This award recognises spirits that perform well across three essential areas: quality, value, and packaging.
Unlike many competitions that focus solely on technical distilling, the London Spirits Competition rewards products that truly appeal to consumers. Judges consider how a spirit tastes, what it costs, and how it looks on the shelf or menu. As a result, the competition highlights spirits that people genuinely want to buy and enjoy.
Importantly, the judging goes beyond blind tasting. Each spirit is also reviewed for label design, storytelling, and overall presentation. The goal is to identify spirits that connect with drinkers and offer strong value for money.
How Scoring Works:
- Quality Score: out of 100
- Value Score: out of 100
- Package Score: out of 100
These three scores are combined to determine the final medal.
Judges include spirits buyers, consultants, and hospitality experts. All of them have hands-on experience sourcing drinks for shops, bars, restaurants, and hotels. This ensures the results reflect what actually works in the market.
“Recognition from the London Spirits Competition matters because it reflects what buyers and consumers actually look for,” said Andrea Kissane, co-creator of Muckross Irish Gin. “This Bronze medal is a useful marker that we’re on the right track with the product.”
